The 'Ready...set...GO!' transition program is open to all pre-school children, whether already enrolled at Kilsyth Primary School, still to enrol or still deciding.  Each session is taken by our experienced Prep teachers and allows your child to become familiar and at ease with the school environment, leading to a confident start to the Prep year.

We provide many opportunities throughout the year for your pre-school child to be part of various activity sessions at Kilsyth Primary School.  We hold regular 'Story-time' sessions with one of the Prep teachers throughout the year.  Come along for stories, songs, games and craft activities.  See below for upcoming dates and contact the school to reserve a place.

Specific information is sent to our neighbouring kinders and child-care centres - if your child attends another centre, you can leave your name and address on our mailing list and we will send details to you.

MAY

  • Kinder visits during Education Week (May 19th - 23rd) focussing on Science activities.

  • Open Night - Wednesday 21st May, 5.30 - 7.30pm - all Kinder parents invited to join our school community in this open evening.

JUNE

  • FAMILY OPEN MORNING AT KILSYTH PRIMARY SCHOOL -
    Saturday 21st June - 10am - 12 noon

  • The whole family is welcome to visit the school on this morning. Have a go at typical Prep activities, tour the school and junior school areas, meet with the Prep team, Principal, Assistant Principal, Student Well-being Officer and Student leaders.  

JULY

  • Story-time
    Thursday 24th July, 1.45 - 3.15pm
     -     a session of stories, songs and activities taken by one of our Prep teachers, held in the Library. 

AUGUST

  • Story-time
    Thursday 21st August, 1.45 - 3.15pm

SEPTEMBER

  • Story-time
    Thursday 18th September, 1.45 - 3.15pm
     

NOVEMBER

  • During Cup Week (from 5th - 7th November) pre-schoolers mix in with our current Prep classes 
    for an activity session in the Prep rooms.

  • Our 'Ready...set...GO!' Transition Program intensifies with a visit each week for 3 weeks, each time visiting a different part of the school for special activities - the Art room, Computer Lab and a Phys. Ed session in the hall.
    Dates: Thursday 13th, 20th and 27th November
    1.45 - 3.15pm

  • 2009 PREP INFORMATION NIGHT
    Wednesday 26th November, 7pm

*Meet the 2009 Prep Teaching Team *Uniform Shop open * Childminding available - please book.

 

DECEMBER

  • One final visit for the year on Orientation Day - Tuesday 9th December - when the children visit as a complete group and get to meet their classmates-to-be.
